Everyone called me Squabz. I don’t know where or how that started, but it stuck. And they called my cousin Eddie “Meatballs.” That, from what I was told, started because my Tata would say “Eddie Spaghetti”, and that would naturally lead any person with half a brain to the nickname “meatballs.” I can still hear my cousin yelling “Squabz!” when I’d run in the front door of my Nana Dorothy’s house, and I’d return the call with a shout of “meatballs” in my best baritone voice.
